My Approach

As human beings, we all develop ways of thinking, feeling, and responding that help us navigate our experiences and relationships. Many of these responses emerge as adaptations to life's challenges and can serve important protective functions. Over time, however, some of these patterns may begin to create difficulties or no longer align with how we want to live, relate, or move through the world.
Through a strong therapeutic relationship, we'll explore how your past experiences continue to influence your present-day thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and relationships. Together, we may become curious about the different parts of yourself that show up in response to life's challenges, the roles they have taken on, and the experiences that have shaped them. We may also explore how earlier experiences are held in the mind and body and how they continue to affect your sense of self, emotional well-being, and interactions with others.
The goal is not to eliminate parts of yourself or simply change behaviours, but to develop greater understanding, flexibility, and self-compassion while creating space for new ways of responding that better support your values, goals, and overall well-being.
I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions. This integrative approach allows our work together to be responsive to your unique experiences, strengths, and needs.
I approach my work from a neuro-affirming perspective and aim to support clients in understanding their experiences within the context of their lives rather than viewing themselves as something that needs to be fixed.
Addiction / Problematic Substance Use
Exploring the role substances may be playing in your life while developing a deeper understanding of the emotions, experiences, and needs that exist beneath the surface.
Impact of a Loved One's Substance Use
Living alongside someone else's substance use can affect how you think, feel, relate to others, and care for yourself. Therapy can provide space to better understand these experiences and reconnect with your own needs.
Neurodivergence
Whether newly identified or long recognized, therapy can support you in understanding your unique way of experiencing the world with greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and compassion.
Mood and Anxiety Concerns
When life begins to feel overwhelming, exhausting, or difficult to navigate, therapy can provide space to better understand what you are experiencing and develop new ways of relating to yourself and your emotions.
Emotion Regulation and Overwhelm
Together, we'll explore the factors that contribute to emotional intensity, overwhelm, or distress while building greater capacity to respond to life's challenges.
Life Transitions
Periods of change can bring uncertainty, loss, growth, and opportunity. Therapy can provide space to reflect, adapt, and move forward in ways that align with your values.
Eating, Body Image, and Self-Worth
Our relationship with food and our bodies is often connected to deeper experiences, beliefs, and emotions. Together, we'll explore these patterns with curiosity, compassion, and care.
Highly Sensitive Traits
Experiencing the world deeply can be both a strength and a challenge. Therapy can help you better understand your sensitivity and develop ways of caring for yourself that honour your needs.
Trauma and Attachment Injuries
Past experiences can continue to shape how we view ourselves, navigate relationships, and respond to the world around us. Therapy can support healing, integration, and the development of new possibilities.

Developing a deeper understanding of who you are can create opportunities for greater self-compassion, authenticity, confidence, and connection
